Seaside Contract for Metcon
Metcon concrete floor contractors has secured the contract for an iconic new seafront pier in Redcar, Cleveland.
The futuristic building is part of a £70m regeneration programme, which will see the seaside town transformed into a leading North East tourism attraction.
Metcon will work in partnership with sister trading division, steel decking specialists Metaldeck, on the new 80ft ‘Vertical Pier', a £1.8M contemporary structure that has divided opinion amongst town residents.
Metaldeck will supply and install 366m2 of Kingspan MD50 and Metcon will install a 140/200mm concrete slab on A252 mesh.
The contract was awarded by Willmott Dixon and will start in December 2012.
